About

Siiponkoski village association (Siiponkosken kyläyhdistys ry) has been operating since 1996. After the abolition of elementary school in 1999, the school building is owned by the Siiponkoski village association. The school building was built in 1957.
Siiponkoski village association focuses on the actual basic village activities, developing and promoting the village and villagers' lives. The village association meets at the regular annual meeting, as well as whenever necessary. Links to official document at the end of the page.

At Siiponkosken Jokikeskus schoolhouse's is also business activities working alongside with village association activities. Siiponkosken Jokikeskus/T:mi J-F Eira offers versatile services; camping area, rental cottages, rent old schoolhouse's facilities. Entrepreuner offers also catering services.

Siiponkoski village was awarded as North Ostrobothnia's village of the year in 2020 by the Pohjois-Pohjanmaan kylät ry association.

Siiponkoski village association has been organizing various events e.g. youth fishing and wild campings , Christmas carols, summer kayaking events. In addition co-operating with local entities such as Maaselän Latu, 4H and others.

Siiponkoski village has been involved in various projects. The most recently the Retkeilevä Haapajärvi nature trail project (2020-2021), where the old trails were developed. The new signs, information boards were added and the new maps were made. Kumpujen polku trail and accessible Myllynketo Lapp hut with fishing dock were built.
Haapajärvi town's Haaga-Tiitto village association participated in the project in collaboration with Siiponkoski village.
